Multi-Sport Adventure Workshop

This multi-sport adventure training Workshop introduces participants to the fundamental skills of stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, rafting, rope-based techniques, and swiftwater rescue. Designed for beginners and intermediate enthusiasts, this course builds confidence in water navigation, safety protocols, and technical rope handling, providing a well-rounded foundation for outdoor exploration and rescue preparedness.

Module 1: Introduction to Paddlesports

  • Objective: Teach participants the basics of SUP, kayaking, and rafting, including proper body positioning, paddling techniques, and water dynamics.
  • Key Activities:
    • SUP stability drills – balancing techniques for standing and maneuvering
    • Kayak control exercises – stroke refinement, bracing, and turns
    • Rafting teamwork fundamentals – effective communication for navigating whitewater
  • Assessment: Participants complete a multi-craft maneuver challenge

Module 2: Rope-Based Techniques & High-Angle Skills

  • Objective: Introduce rope handling skills for rappelling, swiftwater applications, and emergency scenarios.
  • Key Activities:
    • Rope knot mastery – figure-eight, prusik, clove hitch, belay techniques
    • Anchor setup & rappelling drills – controlled descents and high-angle safety
    • Rescue hauling systems – mechanical advantage practice
  • Assessment: Participants perform a rappelling descent & rescue anchor setup

Module 3: Swiftwater Rescue Fundamentals

  • Objective: Teach self-rescue and swiftwater rescue techniques for paddlers and outdoor adventurers.
  • Key Activities:
    • Defensive vs. aggressive swimming techniques for moving water
    • Throw rope applications & swimmer recovery
    • Pinned boat rescues & victim extractions
  • Assessment: Team-based live rescue simulation
