This Canyoning & Rope Skills Course is designed for adventure seekers, outdoor enthusiasts, and rescue professionals who want to develop skills in rappelling down waterfalls, navigating rugged terrain, and mastering rope safety techniques. Module 1: Canyoning Fundamentals & Safety

  • Objective: Teach participants how to assess canyon hazards, weather conditions, and terrain challenges.
  • Key Activities:
    • Understanding rock formations, water flow dynamics, and environmental changes
    • Risk assessment for slippery surfaces, strong currents, and hidden obstacles
    • Proper leave-no-trace ethics and responsible exploration
  • Assessment: Participants perform a site evaluation and hazard mapping exercise

Module 2: Rope Techniques & Gear Mastery

  • Objective: Train participants in rigging setups, knots, and descending methods for safe rappelling.
  • Key Activities:
    • Rope selection based on static vs. dynamic loads
    • Knot tying practice: figure-eight, clove hitch, munter hitch, prusik loops
    • Hands-on harness and carabiner usage for efficient movement
  • Assessment: Participants demonstrate secure knots and proper belay technique

Module 3: Rappelling & Waterfall Descents

  • Objective: Teach techniques for safe waterfall rappelling and maneuvering in wet canyon conditions.
  • Key Activities:
    • Standard rappelling vs. free-hanging descents
    • Wet surface grip strategies & foot positioning
    • Emergency self-arrest techniques using friction devices
  • Assessment: Participants execute multi-height rappelling drills

Module 4: Self-Rescue & Emergency Response

  • Objective: Train participants to assist others in canyon emergencies and develop self-rescue strategies.
  • Key Activities:
    • Anchor setup for rescue scenarios
    • Rope ascension techniques using mechanical advantage systems
    • Managing unexpected falls & hypothermia risk mitigation
